I-95 Northbound in Augusta Shut Down for Incident [UPDATE]
Augusta Police had northbound traffic on I-95 shut down this morning, due to an incident involving a man with a gun.
UPDATE: Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the incident has been resolved and traffic is flowing again. Exit 113 remains closed while police investigate, but northbound traffic is operating as usual.
WABI is reporting the male occupant of the car committed suicide.
In a Tweet just before 7:00 Monday morning, Augusta Police said they were dealing with an incident at the on-ramp for Exit 113. Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says there was a man is sitting alone in a car with a gun. Police said the area could be closed to traffic for much of the morning. Northbound traffic is being diverted onto Exit 112 (Civic Center Drive) to detour around the area. Drivers will need to use secondary roads to travel to Sidney, where they can re-enter the interstate. Southbound traffic is not affected.
