I want to preface with what you're about to see by stating that I have absolutely nothing against beauty pageants for young girls and women. In fact, in my 23-plus years of kicking around in the broadcasting business, I have hosted a few pageants. And although I was never privy to the "backstage" behind-the-scenes action, I never witnessed anything that resembled the antics of the young girl known as "Honey Boo-Boo Child."

Shirley and I have watched an episode or two of Toddlers and Tiaras on the TLC network. Most all of the girls were just so ding-dang cute in their "getups" and routines.  But with a raised eyebrow we both questioned the true intent of the parents. It did seem as the moms were living vicariously through their pretty little girls. And I certainly question the concoction that Alana's (Honey Boo-Boo's real name) momma created called the "Honey Boo-Boo Go-Go Juice." It does seem to have some affect on her mental state.

So the question remains: What long-term effect, positive or negative, will such a thing have on these little girls as they mature? You be the judge, and watch "Honey Boo-Boo Child" in action.

BTW, Your comments are always welcome.
