Maine Christmas Mailing Deadlines & More Post Office News
As they say at the post office…
Keep those cards and letters coming in.
And if you are shipping items to arrive before Christmas, whether you are using the United States Postal Service, or one of the other package delivery services, better step up your game.

The latest best date that orders can ship and still get to locations before Christmas was yesterday, December 12th. Oops
That is for packages. If you are sending greeting cards via snail mail, that deadline to get to most locations around the country is this Saturday the 16th, through next Wednesday the 20th.
Depending upon what area of the country you are sending those cards to of course.

And one of those locations is in Maine.
The Eastern Maine Hampden P&DC facility could be merged into the Scarborough Maine P & DC location. That is what the survey will determine.
P&DC stands for Processing and Distribution Center. If the P&DC facility in Hampden merges into the Scarborough facility, the Hampden location would become a Local Processing Center.
The change is implemented would eliminate about 24 jobs.
More Information and a link to a survey can be found here.
