Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said in a press release today that highway message boards have been located in five area towns aimed at warning vacationers to the area of the manhunt. Robert Burton is suspected of killing his former girlfriend. Stephanie Gebo's body was found in the home the pair once shared in Parkman on June 5th. Burton has been missing ever since and is suspected of hiding out in the woods in the Parkman/Guilford area. Message boards are located in Newport, Athens, Charleston, Milo, and Monson, along all the major roads that lead into that area.

State Police will hold a news conference Thursday afternoon on the ongoing search efforts. The Chief of the State Police, Colonel Robert Williams will update reporters in the parking lot of the Guilford Town Hall.

Police continue to advise residents to report immediately any sign of suspicious activity. In addition, they're urged to keep homes, outbuildings, and vehicles locked. Search efforts to locate Burton will continue by State Police, the Piscataquis County Sheriff's Office, and the Maine Warden's Service. The phone numbers to call are the State Police in Bangor at 973-3700 or 911.
