Police seized heroin and crack cocaine from a vehicle during a routine traffic stop in Ogunquit.

Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says the car was pulled over on the Maine Turnpike late Wednesday night. State Police Trooper Jesse Dudda stopped the vehicle at mile marker 13 for a traffic violation just before midnight, as it was traveling north.

A search of the car turned up 51 grams of heroin and 31 grams of crack cocaine, which resulted in the arrests of 27-year-old Jillian Richards of Waldoboro and 36-year-old Christopher Colbert of Waterville. Both are charged with aggravated trafficking of heroin and crack cocaine. Officials say the drugs are worth thousands of dollars on the street.
