The Maine DOT shared data that shows vehicle vs deer crashes by county. There's a few surprises as to where you're more likely to come across a deer in the road.

Based on ten year data released by the Maine Department of Transportation, Penobscot County leads the state in deer vs vehicle crashes. Data collected from 2008 through 2017 shows 5,179 crashes, outpacing Cumberland county by 240 accidents.

Lincoln county had the fewest accidents, with only 729.

In total Maine roads saw over 36,000 accidents from 2008 through 2017.
