The Hannaford store at 58 Main Street in Madawaska has issued a recall for select ground beef sold on Tuesday after discovering the products may contain foreign material.
The recall includes Hannaford brand 80% and 85% lean ground beef purchased on January 13th, 2026, with a sell-by date of January 16th, 2026, and customers are urged not to eat the products and to return them to the store for a full refund.

The advisory applies only to the Madawaska store, and no injuries or illnesses have been reported.
Again, the recall includes 80% lean ground beef with UPCs 213779 and 242214, as well as 85% lean ground beef with UPCs 223126 and 2231127, all purchased on January 13th, 2026, with a sell-by date of January 16th, 2026.
