A complaint about underage drinking at a home in Penobscot prompted a visit from members of the Hancock County Sheriff's Department just after midnight on Tuesday, November 11th. When the deputies arrived, they found about two dozen people at the party.

As a result of the investigation, twelve minors and three juveniles were summoned for illegal possession of liquor by a minor.
Maine Deputies Charge Teens from Several Towns at Hancock County Drinking Party
The individuals were from a variety of communities, including Bar Harbor, Holden, Bangor, and Ellsworth.

In addition, a 20-year-old Bangor man was arrested for furnishing liquor to minors.
The three youngest party-goers were issued juvenile summons and released to their legal guardians.

This investigation was part of an ongoing initiative by the Hancock County Sheriff's office to target underage drinking violations, including retail compliance checks, enforcement details for underage drinking, and uniformed saturation/visibility patrols.
