An Ellsworth bus driver is facing charges after a crash that sent another driver to the hospital.

The bus driver has been identified as Daniel Morse, 57, of Hancock.
Ellsworth Police say the driver of a sedan, Michael Sarran, 26, of Southwest Harbor, remains in the hospital with serious injuries.
It was just after 5:00 pm on January 15, 2026, when the Ellsworth Police Department received a report of a crash between a vehicle and a school bus, that resulted in person injuries.

Officials say Morse was driving the bus northbound on Roue 1A when he allegedly went into the southbound lane to turn around at Cove Way.

Sarran's vehicle, which was traveling south, collided with the side of the full-sized bus on the passenger side, near the rear wheels.
Four students on the bus, between the ages of 12 and 16, did not require medical attention.
Mr. Sarran was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries, while Mr. Morse was treated at the scene by EMS.
