Three young people are dead following a single-vehicle crash in Gouldsboro on Saturday night.

According to the Ellsworth American, speed and alcohol are believed to have been factors in the accident that happened just after 7 p.m. on the West Bay Road.

The driver, Jessob Hayward, 22, of Gouldsboro was killed, as well as his two passengers: Lucas Pottle, 19, of Steuben; and an 18-year-old whose name has not been released. The Chevrolet Silverado traveled off the roadway, and struck some trees, breaking the vehicle in half. No other vehicles were involved in the incident. Police say alcohol was found at the scene.

Gouldsboro Police continue to investigate the accident, and the State Medical Examiner will determine whether alcohol was a factor.
