I'd say everyone has some sort of opinion about their favorite ice cream. And around these parts, you'd be hard pressed to find a much more popular brand than our own local ice cream slingers, Gifford's. And it seems that now, probably just about all of New England is gonna want a taste.

It was just announced last week, that Gifford's is now the official ice cream of the New England Patriots, after signing a multi-year contract. Soon, they will be unveiling a specially produced new flavor, honoring the six-time Super Bowl champions. And according to press release at their website, the folks at Gifford's couldn't be more thrilled.

This isn't their first time with being bestowed such a huge honor. In 2016, they teamed up (no pun intended...kinda) with the Boston Bruins as their official keepers of the sacred ice cream. That flavor was called Power Play Fudge.

No word yet on a release date for the new Pats themed flavor, but we'll be sure to let you know. In fact, I feel like I may even need to do some actual taste research when it comes out. You know.... for science.
