Most of us know the coming weekend as Black Friday. And the last few years, Saturday has begun to include Small Business Saturday. Of course, followed by Cyber Monday. But around Bangor, we've come to know it as Plaid Friday. It puts the focus on buying from local business, and let's face it, Plaid Friday sounds way cooler.

There will be carolers downtown, and they'll have the trolley running, bringing people around to the more than 20 business participating. And of course the next day is Small Business Saturday. Which will feel and look very much the same. At any rate, it'll be a great time to get out and shop local.

But to make it even easier for folks, the Pickering Square Parking Garage will not only be open, but it will be free to the public both days! The garage will be waiting for people to flood the downtown area with shoppers, and now they can park for free in a super convenient location while they do it!

It's also Rider Appreciation Day for the Community Connector public buses. So not only will the trolley be free, Bangor's whole bus system will be giving riders free rides all day.

All in all, it will be an incredibly festive time in downtown Bangor this weekend, so get out and enjoy it. Plus, you'll be able to knock a few things off your Christmas shopping list, and keep local businesses going strong while you do it. It's a win/win!!
