Four Ellsworth Residents Charged In Holden Heroin Bust
Four Ellsworth residents were arrested by Maine Drug Enforcement Agents late Thursday night. The four were in a vehicle that was stopped in Holden after traveling from Massachusetts. Agents seized nine grams of heroin and a small amount of crack cocaine.
Melissa Norwood, 50, and James Richardson, 32, were charged with Class B trafficking in heroin. Dwight Norwood, 54, was charged with Class A, aggravated trafficking in heroin. Mariah Ryan, 24,was charged with possessing heroin.
Melissa Norwood is currently on probation from a 2018 conviction in Massachusetts for Possession of Cocaine and Selling Heroin.
Dwight Norwood was released from prison in September, completing a 10 month sentence for trafficking in heroin. He had received a sentence of 3 years with all but 10 months suspended and 3 years’ probation for a conviction for trafficking in heroin.
All were transported to the Penobscot County Jail. Bail for Dwight Norwood was set at $7,000. Bail for Melissa Norwood was set at $5,000. Bail for Richardson was set at $2,000 and bail for Ryan was set at $200.
