Four people have been arrested in connection with a crack cocaine bust in Biddeford.

On Thursday, Maine Drug Enforcement agents served a search warrant on the 3rd floor of 1 Wentworth Street. Seized as a result of that search were 23 grams of Crack Cocaine, with a street value of $2,500, and other evidence of drug trafficking. The two residents of the apartment:were arrested, 37-year-old Shanna Pepin and 35-year-old Kelvin Rodgers, along with 28-year-old Ricardo Middleton of Kennebunk and 32-year-old Roshawn Drane of Massachusetts.

All four people were charged with Class 'A' Aggravated Trafficking in Crack Cocaine and taken to the York County Jail. The charges were elevated because purchases of the drug by undercover agents from Pepin and Rodgers were made within 1000 feet of a designated drug-free zone.  Bail for Pepin, Rodgers, and Drane was set at $20,000 cash. Middleton was held without bail due to violating bail conditions on a prior arrest. The Department of Health and Human Services was contacted because a young child belonging to Rodgers was present during execution of the search warrant.

Anyone with information about this investigation or the illegal sale of drugs is urged to contact the MDEA office closest to them, or by calling the MDEA tip-line at 800-452-6457.
