Fort Kent Man Accused Of Using Facebook To Impersonate A Police Officer
Police say a Fort Kent man was charged with impersonating a public servant for using his Facebook page to depict himself as a state trooper.
Cejay Levesque, 20, claimed on his Facebook page that he was a Maine State Police trooper, police said in a news release Wednesday night.
The release said he also posted pictures that furthered the impression that he was an officer.
Police said Levesque on Facebook indicated that he had attended the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and claimed he was a former employee of the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff's office had no record of Levesque being an employee, and the academy said Levesque never received law enforcement certification from the school, the release said.
Levesque was issued a summons to appear in Fort Kent District Court on March 6.
