A Fort Fairfield man is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Howland on Saturday.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says 30-year-old Ted McArthur of Fort Fairfield died when he was ejected from a vehicle driven by 30-year-old Leslie Greenlaw of Linneus. The vehicle was traveling on I-95 in Howland just after 7:30 Saturday evening when it drifted off the passing lane and into the median. Police say Greenlaw over-corrected when the SUV got back on the pavement, which caused the vehicle to rotate, leave the pavement and travel down the embankment on the median side. It struck a culvert and rolled over, which is when MacArthur was thrown from the vehicle. Officials say he was not wearing a seatbelt.

Greenlaw was taken by Howland Ambulance to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, where she's being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police continue to investigate the cause of the accident.
