Governor Paul LePage has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff today, in remembrance of the shooting victims at a Maryland newspaper.

President Donald Trump issued a proclamation today, directing American flags to half-staff as a mark of respect for the victims. Governor LePage has followed suit, ordering American and Maine flags to half-staff until sunset this evening.

"Ann and I send our deepest condolences to the families of those who lost their lives," the governor said in a media release, "and all those who have been affected by this tragedy."

Jarrod W. Ramos is charged with five counts of first degree murder for what police have called a targeted attack on the Capital Gazette in Annapolis, Maryland last week. Ramos was allegedly upset about the paper's coverage of his prior harassment case against a woman.
