A bright fireball was caught on camera, lighting up the night sky in northern Maine.

The National Weather Service caught a spectacular spacey sight on camera. A bright fireball was captured on camera outside the NWS Caribou office. Forecasters say the fireball was seen streaking across the horizon at 11:31 p.m., on Sunday, May 8. The clear skies in the forecast made for near-perfect viewing.

The NWS shared multiple videos of the fireball on their social media. The video above is the original.

According to the American Meteor Society, a bright fireball was reported to the agency on Sunday around the same time. There were 43 witness reports filed from locations in Vermont, New York, and Canada.
