One man is dead after a house fire Monday in the Androscoggin County town of Sabattus.

Maine Department of Public Safety spokesperson Shannon Moss says the fire was reported at approximately 4:37 Monday afternoon. The Sabattus Fire Department responded to the house fire at 21 Moore Drive and was able to extinguish the blaze. The State Fire Marshal's Office was called to investigate and 69-year-old Edward Greenier was found deceased, inside the residence. An autopsy is planned to confirm his cause of death.

Investigators will now work to determine how the fire started.
