22-Year-Old Pennsylvania Woman Dies, 3 Hurt in Naples Crash
A single-vehicle crash in the town of Naples has claimed the life of a Pennsylvania woman and left 3 other people injured.
Cumberland County Sheriff's Deputies responded to the crash scene on Lambs Mill Road, near the intersection of Hideaway Road, just before 11:30 PM Sunday. When they arrived, the deputies found a pickup on its side that had crashed into a tree. Two of the truck's occupants had freed themselves from the wreckage while the driver and front passenger were still trapped inside.
Officials say Ashley Gentile-Wing, 22, from New Kensington, Pennsylvania died at the scene. She had been sitting in the front passenger seat and was wearing her seatbelt.
The driver, Chase Weese, 21 of Naples, was removed from the vehicle with the Jaws of Life and taken to Maine Medical Center by Life Flight with potentially life-threatening injuries. Officials say that Weese was not wearing a seatbelt. The rear-seat passengers, Alexa Burak, 21 of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, and Nathan Burak, 24 of Berwick, Maine were transported by ambulance to Central Maine Medical Center with suspected non-life-threatening injuries. It's not known whether they were wearing their seatbelts.
The road was closed for approximately 6 hours while the crash was reconstructed and crews cleared the scene.
This crash remains under investigation by the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division and Crash Reconstruction Unit.
