A Farmington man is facing charges after allegedly shooting a woman during a domestic dispute.

Gunther Swan, 26, of Farmington, is charged with attempted murder and domestic violence elevated aggravated assault.
Farmington Maine Domestic Violence Victim Flown to Portland in Critical Condition
Farmington Police and the Franklin County Sheriff's Office responded to 513 Fairbanks Road just before 2:00 on Tuesday for a report of a person who had been shot and wounded. The 911 caller told authorities that the suspect had left the home on foot.
Swan was located not far from the residence and detained by a Sheriff's Detective.
Police say the 29-year-old female victim was found with a serious injury to her face. Northstar Ambulance transported her to Maine Health Franklin Hospital, where she was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland by a LifeFlight helicopter.
At the the last report, the victim was in critical condition.

Police say there's no danger to the public as this appears to be an isolated domestic violence altercation.
