Embden Man Charged With Drug Trafficking, Child Endangerment
A traffic stop Wednesday night led to the arrest of an Embden man and the seizure of various drugs with an estimated street value of $17,500, police said.
Bruce Danforth, 56, is charged with two counts of aggravated trafficking in schedule W drugs, endangering the welfare of a child and violating conditions of release, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency said in a Thursday news release.
MDA agents stopped Danforth's vehicle in Gray and conducted a bail search. Agents said they discovered approximately 50 grams of heroin, 30 grams of cocaine, five grams of methamphetamine, some Oxycodone and $7,700 in suspected drug proceeds.
Danforth's wife and three children, two of which were Danforth’s children, were in the car when it was pulled over. The Department of Health and Human Services was notified about the presence of the children.
Danforth was taken to the Cumberland County Correctional Facility in Portland, where he is being held without bail pending an initial court appearance.
