Secret Event Taking Place Saturday In Millinocket

A party is underway in Millinocket come Saturday.

Come visit the old Millinocket mill at 11 a.m. for a BBQ and to see a community that hasn't been seen in a while, to take in the sights of a historic and incredible town of Maine, and... there's something else but we don't know what it is.

According to a Facebook post published to the 'Our Katahdin' Facebook page on Thursday, this Saturday event will make for a great food and gathering event with an additional secret unveiling that holds a little secrecy and described with little explanation.

So what do we know? According to the Facebook post, there's going to be a big announcement that will be made in front of the Millinocket mill site that will also include a program to follow the announcement. The wording in the announcement also used the word "historic."

So, it will make history, it's worth the efforts of secrecy and there's a BBQ as part of the festivities.

Things kick off at 11 a.m. and go until 12:30 p.m. Expect delicious BBQ foods like hot dogs, hamburgers, meat alternatives, sides and whoopie pies. The location is specific to the front lawn of the admin building at 1 Katahdin Avenue in Millinocket.

The event is being put on by the 'Our Katahdin' nonprofit group. Expect plans regarding "development behind the gates" of the facility.
