She's certainly no stranger to the area and she's been tapped to serve as the new Executive Director of the Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce.

You've heard her voice too on our airways advocating for Mainers in need.

The Ellsworth Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has announced they've hired Susan Farley.

“Susan comes to us with a wealth of community and public relations experience” stated Buddy Saunders, Chair of the EACC Board.  “We are very lucky to have found someone right in our own backyard who knows our community to take on this position.”

Susan has been employed by the Washington Hancock Community Agency for the past 5 years as their Family Assistance Advocate.

She has been responsible for all crisis intervention for individuals and families in need of assistance for everything from food and fuel, to transportation, elderly services, housing and other basic needs.

She recently was the lead navigator for WHCA and the Affordable Care Act roll out, assisting clients with the exchange sites and getting insurance.  She is also the chair of the Hancock County Transition Team, a support group that assembles to assist during large layoffs, such as recent paper mill shut downs.

Prior to her work at WHCA, Susan was the Coastal Bureau Chief at WABI TV 5 for six years covering all of Hancock and Washington counties.

“I am extremely excited and honored to take on this position at the Ellsworth Chamber”, stated Farley. “ Everyone at the Chamber is so dedicated and talented and I look forward to joining the team, and continuing to work in the same community but in a different capacity.”
