Don't you love going into a house that's clean and organized? It smells like lemons, or cinnamon, or some other homey scent, rather than last night's dinner.
Maybe I notice it more than most because of how I was raised.

I grew up in a house that was always very clean. And in the Spring, my brothers and I knew that the deep cleaning would begin.
Moms Teach Their Children the Importance of Spring Cleaning
My Mom would wash down walls, scrub floors, and pack away our winter clothes for the summer.

And every Spring, we'd come home from school one day to find half of our bedroom at the bottom of the stairs and our Mom telling us to change out of our school clothes and get to work.
I did not inherit this gene, despite her best efforts.
Pre-Planning Can Make Spring Cleaning Easier to Tackle
Cleaning is not something that comes naturally to me, so this year, I'm working on a plan to be more organized and get it done.
I put together a list of 11 things that will, hopefully, make the task easier and more attainable.
Mind you, I'm no Martha Stewart. I'm not going to advise you to reseal any grout lines or wax your woodwork.
This is just some pre-planning, so when you finally commit to the deep clean, it will go faster and more efficiently.
That's the plan. Here's hoping we can all follow through.
