A Hope woman who was driving a vehicle full of children when it hit another vehicle, killing a husband and wife, is going to prison.

The accident happened on Route 1 in Woolwich on January 1st, 2017. A vehicle driven by 35-year-old Danielle Ward veered into the oncoming lane and slammed head-on into another vehicle. 70-year-old Robert Martin and his wife, Carolyn, died in the crash. Six children in Ward's vehicle, three of them her own, were treated at a local hospital.

WABI-TV reports Ward was sentenced this week to six years in prison. She has also lost her driver's license for at least 10 years. In March, she pleaded guilty to manslaughter, driving under the influence, driving to endanger, and endangering the welfare of a child.
