Dodgeball Tournament Will Raise Awareness of Bangor Area Homeless [VIDEO]
Fusion:Bangor is hosting a Dodgeball Tournament and Happy Hour on Saturday to raise awareness of and donations for the homeless in the Greater Bangor area. It's open to all ages!
It sounds like a fun day, whether you're playing Dodgeball or just watching from the sidelines! It was a stressful game for me, as a kid. I hated the idea of getting hit with that red ball and dealing with the taunts of my friends. But, as an adult, I think it would be a lot of fun to play! Sticks and stones and all that....
Plus, being hit by a soft rubber ball is easy compared to what someone has to deal with daily when they're homeless. And that's what Saturday's event is all about - raising awareness of and donations for the homeless in and around Bangor. Proceeds and donations from the event will benefit the Shaw House and The Shepherd's Godparent Home in Bangor. The Dodgeball tournament gets underway at 2:00 at Fields4Kids on the Farm Road in Bangor.
Folks are encouraged to stop by and cheer the teams on! Take some donations, too, that will help these organizations stock their supply shelves. There's a list of items needed at the Dodgeball For Cause Facebook page, but it's basic items like personal care products (toothpaste, toothbrushes, shampoo, etc), non-perishable food items, socks, gloves, and hats.
At 5:00, team members and anyone else can stop by for a Happy Hour at Fields4Kids. Everyone's invited for a cash bar and even more game to play.
