A fun night out in Newport this weekend, including dinner and an auction, will help a summer camp that caters to children and adults with disabilities.

It's all happening at the Newport Recreation Center, which is located in the old elementary school. From 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, folks are invited to stop by for a delicious spaghetti dinner. It's a reasonably priced meal for families with admission set at $7 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Then at 6 p.m., folks can preview the auction items and get ready to start bidding at 6:30 p.m.

Items up for bid will include a kayak and paddle, two lift tickets to Sugarloaf, a Milwaukee drill set, Adirondack chairs, a ton of pellets, and 50 pounds of potatoes. There will also be Dysart's pies and homemade bread up for auction, whoopie pie baskets, jewelry, household items, and the list goes on.

The money raised by the evening will benefit Camp Capella, which sits on beautiful Phillips Lake in Dedham, and offers a full outdoor experience to kids and adults who may not, otherwise, get to go to camp. It's a great cause, so bring your appetite and start thinking about what you want to bid on.
