
When Does Daylight Saving Time End in Maine in 2025?
As the days start getting shorter here in our Pine Tree State, we have to start asking: when will our clocks need to ‘fall back?’
We get it—Maine winters are long, cold, and tough, with plenty of ways to describe just how brutal they can feel. And really, it all starts right here, when the sun goes down way earlier than anyone would like.

So, with that in mind, when does Daylight Saving Time end in Maine this year—and when do we set our clocks back an hour?
In the U.S., Daylight Saving Time began on the second Sunday in March and will end on the first Sunday in November, with clocks changing at 2:00 a.m. local time. In 2025, it started on March 9th and will end on November 2nd.

For now, only Hawaii and parts of Arizona skip the time change and stay on the same time year-round.
There have been efforts to eliminate the clock changes tied to Daylight Saving Time, including the Sunshine Protection Act, which passed in the Senate in 2022 but did not pass in the House.

And there you have it! On Sunday, November 2nd at 2 a.m., we’ll ‘fall back,’ set our clocks back one hour, and enjoy an extra hour of sleep.
