Weather Couldn’t Keep Mainers from Cruising for Their Students

Impressive is the word of the day thanks to the David Priest Memorial Cruise-In. David Priest was a beloved Mainer and UTC student who we tragically lost to cancer in 2012. He would have been 31 today. This titular car show is an annual fundraiser for scholarships for local high school students to attend a trade school. Everything about today was impressive.

The Whole Community Rallied Behind this Maine Car Show Fundraiser

Rain can be detrimental to car shows as many understandably do not like to drive around their rare and classic vehicles in potentially damaging weather. Well, even Mother Nature contributed today by stopping the rain just in time and providing sunshine with a nice breeze. Some of the most impressive cars, trucks and motorcycles were on display to raise $12,000 for this amazing scholarship program - the most raised yet for this event!

From "Ms. P" (Amanda) from UTC and this impressive campus playing host to the David Priest Memorial Cruise-In for the 2nd year in a row, to Mike from Northstar Waste & Recycling playing a significantly impressive role bringing the event together just added to the love for the community and this cause and everyone coming together was nothing short of ... impressive. Check out some of the cars featured at today's car show below!

This was a free car show, so all money raised was by donation only. Many local businesses offered services and items to be raffled off. There was a 50/50 raffle, and delicious items on the grill for purchase with a donation. Today was an impressive success, and we applaud everyone who played a role in putting on the car show today and who attended while also thanking them for allowing us to be involved.
