With outdoor COVID restrictions lifting, Waterfront Concerts says the season is a-go.

With outdoor restrictions on physical distancing and capacity limits ending, concerts will resume on the Bangor Waterfront this summer. The news was confirmed by Alex Gray of Waterfront Concerts. Gray told WABI they will go forward with their schedule of concerts that were pushed from 2020, to this summer. The schedule, so far, includes Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett and KISS. It will take about a week to get the venue ready for shows.

2021 Concerts:

  • Aug. 5 - Luke Bryan
  • Aug. 19 - KISS
  • Aug. 20 - Thomas Rhett

Gray told WABI the uncertainty of summer concerts cost the venue some shows back in the fall. "We’ve had shows pass on us in September and October of this year that are 2021 shows, not 2020 carryovers,” said Gray. The hope is to book a few new shows, pushing them into late summer and early fall.

Improvements to the venue have been paused for over a year. Gray explained that with no revenue coming in for 14 months, it left no budget for construction.
