The name of the truck driver has not been released, but officials say the individual was transported to Thayer Hospital in Waterville with non-life-threatening injuries.

It was just before 4 am on Thursday when a passerby to the crash contacted the Bangor Regional Communications Center. The caller said there was a tractor-trailer crash on the northbound side of I-95 in Clinton, near mile marker 141.

Maine State Police Troopers responded and found the rig in the center median. No other vehicles were involved in the crash of the tractor-trailer that was carrying grocery goods.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the crash.

Police have closed the passing lane of that portion of I-95 northbound to facilitate the extensive operation needed to remove the truck from the scene.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area or expect traffic to be slowed or even stopped.
