Cindy Campbell’s Sneak Peek Of The Available Cottages At Dirigo Pines In Orono

I wasn't sure what to expect when I was invited to tour Dirigo Pines in Orono. I mean, it's not like I'm at "that" point in my life! But I think that misconception was the biggest surprise for me when I arrived at Dirigo Pines. Independent Living, or Senior Living, is by no means a downgrade in what you are used to for a home. Needless to say,  I was totally unprepared for the lovely homes and amazing location that Dirigo Pines provides. The Cottages and the Inn are all clustered around a large pond, surrounded by trees, and beautifully landscaped. It's such a picturesque setting, that I'd never want to leave. Maybe I am ready to move?!

The main reason for my visit was to view the new construction cottages that were recently made available for Independent Living, but first, I just had to see the whole place! We started our tour at the Inn, which offers apartment living, and is especially perfect for anyone who has reached the chapter in their lives where they want many amenities under one roof. The apartments are so homey and easy to maintain, complete with kitchens, although there's also an elegant dining area where residents can dine with their friends. A game room, library, and outdoor gardening spots make this a great destination for anyone looking for all-under-one-roof living.

Next was the big reveal, as we made our way to a couple of the NEW construction cottages, just made available on the market. If you, a family member, or a friend are at a point in life that demands a more independent lifestyle, I highly recommend you consider the Cottages at Dirigo Pines. They're so beautiful and spacious, with some pretty amazing amenities. The newer Cottages offer you many choices to customize the interior of your new home. Who doesn't love that? I can just imagine inviting friends over for brunch and then taking our coffee out to the warm sunroom for some conversation.

The living rooms are bright and open. And there's even an office area, for anyone who works from home, or just wants a place to keep their important information organized. Of course, the office could also become a playroom for when the grandkids come by for a visit. How spacious are these cottages? I love how Dirigo Pines is so secluded, but still right down the road from shopping, restaurants, the University of Maine, and so much more.
