Caribou Police Seek Suspect Who May Have Been Shot by a Homeowner
Caribou Police are asking for the public's help locating a man, possibly with a gunshot wound, who's suspected in an alleged assault.
A local resident called Caribou Police at around noon on Thursday, saying she had just shot at a man who allegedly tried to assault her. The woman, whose name has not been released, told police that the man fled the scene in an older black pickup truck with a visor above the windshield, possibly Ford. She said she didn't know which direction he traveled in as he left.
Police say the man is described as caucasian, with longer dark hair that was sticking out of the back of his ball cap, a mustache and facial scruff. They say the ball cap was blue with the word 'Ford' on it. He may have a gunshot wound to the left shoulder area.
Anyone with information about his identity or who thinks they saw something suspicious in the area of Caribou Lake Road Thursday around noon is asked to call 911, or Caribou Police Dispatch at 207-493-3301, the Maine State Police at 207-532-5400, or the Aroostook County Crimestoppers at 800-638-8477.
