Police say a deadly crash involving two vehicles closed a portion of Route 46 in Bucksport on Wednesday.

UPDATE: Officials say 58-year-old Ronald Baker of Bucksport died in the accident, when his vehicle was struck by another driven by 62-year-old Rosemary Corro of Dedham. Corro had swerved to avoid utility wires in the road.

The Dedham/Lucerne Fire Department posted on Facebook at around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday that the accident was just across the Dedham/Bucksport line.

Details are still coming in, but firefighters did confirm to WVII-TV that it was a fatal accident involving two vehicles. A witness said one of the vehicles was on its side, while another sustained heavy damage. The circumstances of the accident and names of the people involved have not been released by police.
