
Bucksport Bay Festival is This Saturday the 22nd
It starts early and ends late.
6:30 AM it's the breakfast buffet at the Bucksport United Methodist Church with delicious homemade entrees and breakfast lasts until 9:30
The whole event wraps up with a fireworks show beginning at 9:00 PM over the Penobscot river. The fireworks are launched from fort Knox.
And there is so much to do in between. It is absolutely a full day of activities. Beginning at 7:00 AM you can register for the Bucksport family fun run and dog walk that will take place at the pool parking lot on Broadway. And the Bucksport animal shelter benefits from the entry fees for the race which starts at 8 a.m.
Fort Knox is open all day and it’ll be 1860 with the Civil War Living History Encampment beginning at 9 a.m.
9 a.m. is also when the Antique & Classic Car Show begins at Crosby’s Drive In on Rte. 46.

You can’t help but get informed between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Bucksport Historical Society.
Ready for some shopping?
Beginning at 11 a.m. all along the Waterfront local crafters and community organizations booths will be open for business. And who’s getting hungry? The food area also opens at 11 a.m. and features numerous food trucks and vendors.
Bay Festival Parade is a big undertaking. It begins at Noon and includes Shriner wheelers, floats, tractors, fire trucks, and the Dunlap Highland band. The parade route is Franklin Street to Mill Street to Main Street
Also, at Noon you can tour the 47-foot Motor Lifeboat of the United States Coast Guard, docked at the Waterfront.
Other afternoon events include the Kid’s Center, Touch a Truck, Darling’s Ice Cream truck. You can even go see Super Mario Bros movie at the Alamo Theatre.
There is also live music beginning at 1 p.m. and going until the fireworks show at 9 p.m.
