Brunswick Man’s Clothes Catch Fire While Tending To Wood Stove

A Brunswick man was seriously burned Friday when his clothing caught fire as he was tending to his wood store, authorities said.

Thomas Soucy, 62, is being treated at Maine Medical Center, according to a news release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.

Soucy is confined to a wheel chair. His pants caught fire and the flames spread to much of his body and his wheelchair.

Two investigators from the State Fire Marshal's Office joined members of the Brunswick fire and police departments at the scene.

There was no fire damage to Soucy’s home.
