Brooklyn Men Arrested In Maine Drug Trafficking Investigation
Two men from Brooklyn, New York have been arrested following an investigation into the sale of heroin and cocaine in Oxford County.
The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency on Tuesday arrested Dennis “Rocky” Roman, 36, and Jose “Justo” Rivera, 24, according to a Thursday press release from the Maine Department of Public Safety.
Roman was charged with trafficking heroin and cocaine base. Rivera, who was out on bail on previous coke and heroin charges, was charged with violating his bail conditions.
Maine drug agents, as part of an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking in the Oxford Hills region, arrested Roman at 2 Paris Hill Road in South Paris. During the arrest, agents found pre-packaged cocaine and heroin with a street value of $5,000, scales and $2,500 in cash, according to MDEA supervisor Matt Cashman.
MDEA was assisted by several local police departments, Maine State Police and the Oxford County Sheriff’s Department.
Both men were taken to the Oxford County Jail.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and additional arrests are expected.
