Brewer Riverwalk Festival Was a Big Win with Two Losers

For another year, the City of Brewer had an extremely successful Riverwalk Festival. From the food trucks to representation from our town's finest with the Brewer PD and Fire Department, to the incredible vendors, and the fireworks to close it all down - this year's Brewer Riverwalk Festival was a big win ... with two very distinct losers present.

Brewer Riverwalk Festival 2024 Introduced a New Cornhole Tournament

Brewer Riverwalk Festival introduced something new this year - a cornhole tournament. 21 teams participated, and 20 of them were formidable competitors. The entry fee was $25 per person, and 1st place received $500 in cash and prizes. So if 20 out of 21 teams were worthy competitors, what was the remaining team? Meet David and Jordan from Q106.5.

David and Jordan Signed Up for the Brewer Riverwalk Festival Cornhole Tournament

Please be aware that the previous headline specifically says, "signed up" and not "showed up," because neither David nor Jordan Verge did show up. Physically, they were at the tournament and paid the fees, but competitively, this duo was non-existent.

To be eliminated from competition, a team would have to lose 2 games out of 3 in the first round. David and Jordan wasted no time in doing just that. In fact, team Q106.5 never even saw a game 3. Jordan is pictured above with his first opponent - someone 10-years younger who was holding and enjoying a beverage throughout the entirety of the brief beating of David and Jordan.

Leading up to the Brewer Riverwalk Festival's inaugural cornhole tourney, David and Jordan spoke very highly of themselves with claims of going undefeated, and blowing out anyone who challenged them.

These claims couldn't have been further from the truth, as David and Jordan suffered a tragic second game loss by an impressive score of 21-1 which led to their elimination. David and Jordan did say they would break records, and it is currently being researched if they beat the record for shortest amount of time in a cornhole tournament.

The moral of this experience is to remain humble and go into battle prepared for victory AND defeat - a lesson that has already been lost on David and Jordan with both laying claims that they will decimate the competition in Brewer next year.
