There's no question that police officers have a tough job, risking their lives regularly to keep the peace in the community.
We see it play out on reality TV all the time, with police officers talking about their jobs while they're driving around town, participating in physical training, and interacting with the community.

But I wonder how many local police departments have thought about using that formula to recruit new officers?
We live in a video age. Reels,social media, Tiktok...it's the way we entertain ourselves and the way we learn.

And now the Brewer Police Department has taken that very 'reel' trend and created a video to tempt officer candidates to the city.
Sergeants Zachary Caron and Amy Nickerson talk about the job, and Assistant City Manager (and former Police Chief) Jason Moffitt touts the benefits of living in Brewer.
I love the video and hope that it brings some quality officer candidates to the department.

But I have to admit, the night scenes in the cruiser made me look at Brewer in a different light.
I grew up in this town and, I'm sure, tend to take things for granted. Those night scenes from the point of view of the cruiser, with the business lights on Wilson Street, made Brewer seem bigger than expected.
