The execution of a search warrant in Brewer led to the arrests of two people on drug charges.

Brewer, Maine Police Arrest 2 People During Search of a Local Residence

Brewer Police have identified the suspects as:

  • David Zabala, 40, of Brewer
  • Cassandra Cote, 34, of Bangor

Both were originally taken into custody on outstanding warrants.

Officers executed a search warrant at a Brewer home on Wednesday, as part of an investigation into illegal drug trafficking.

Both suspects were taken into custody on warrants, although police say Zabala allegedly refused officers' commands and resisted arrest. Officials say, at the time, he was out on bail for a prior domestic violence arrest.

During the search, police say they noticed many safety concerns and found a deceased dog inside the home.

As a result of that search, both suspects have new offenses.

David Zabala is charged with:

  • Aggravated unlawful trafficking of Schedule W Drugs
  • Refusing to submit to arrest or detention
  • Aggravated animal cruelty
  • Violation of a condition of release

Cassandra Cote is charged with aggravated unlawful trafficking of Schedule W drugs.
