Game Wardens have recovered the body of a man who drowned Sunday while boating with friends. The search was resumed this morning after wardens found no sign of him on Sunday.

Ian MacDonnell, age 33 of Bar Harbor, was out boating with friends on Donnell Pond in Franklin Sunday when he jumped in the water to retrieve a water bottle that had fallen overboard. The motorboat was stopped at the time. Friends said that MacDonnell was not a strong swimmer and was not wearing a life vest.

Game Wardens were called just after 5:30 Sunday and began a search until dark. At around ten o'clock Monday morning, MacDonnell's body was located. The Maine Warden Service was assisted by Hancock and Franklin Fire Departments. Wardens will continue to investigate the incident.
