A tree branch that's fallen on power lines has left nearly 3,000 Blue hill residents without power this morning.

Emera Maine reports 2,987 customers lost their electricity before 7 a.m., when a tree limb fell onto the power lines. Crews are out, and hope to have power restored by 9:30 a.m. Drivers are reminded to slow down and move over, if possible, when passing utility crews. And remember that it's never safe to touch downed lines, or attempt to clear debris from lines. That kind of work should  be left to the experts, so it can be done safely.
