Bill Belichick rejected claims that his girlfriend, Jordon Hudson, influences his coaching duties at the University of North Carolina, calling the suggestions “ridiculous.”

In a Wall Street Journal interview published Sept. 16, Belichick, 74, said Hudson coordinates his personal schedule but has no role in his responsibilities at UNC.

Belichick said an email directing personal appearance requests to Hudson was misinterpreted as giving her broader authority.

Belichick and Hudson met on a flight to Florida in February 2021, when they discussed a college textbook she was reading and he signed it.

Hudson grew up in Hancock, Maine, in a family with generations of ties to commercial fishing.

She has competed in the Miss Maine USA pageant and advocated for the state’s fishing industry.
