Our Pine Tree State may not have any cities claiming to ‘never sleep,’ but we certainly wish there were more late-night options.

It’s a shame, really, that there’s only one restaurant in Maine open all night long. It wasn’t always this way—there used to be several spots where you could grab a bite during those late-night study sessions or satisfy midnight cravings. Now, the late-night food scene in Maine has become a quiet, lonely place.

With that in mind, which 24-hour restaurant in Maine takes the title as the best in our state—entirely by default?

According to Tasting Table and their article, ‘The Absolute Best 24-Hour Restaurant in Each State,’ Maine’s best 24-hour restaurant is also our only 24-hour restaurant: Burger King. Tasting Table had this to say about Maine’s sole 24-hour restaurant:

Unless you've held a long-time aversion to fast food joints, it's a safe bet you've eaten at Burger King at least a couple times in your life. And if you're ever looking for an always-open eatery in Maine, you may be stuck with the international chain as your only available option. Don't despair, though; if you aren't a fast food fan, and therefore can't find anything appealing on the menu, it may be worth it to give one of Burger King's secret menu items a try.

So, there you have it. By default, as it’s the only restaurant open 24 hours in Maine, Burger King is our best!
