Belfast Ice Festival This Saturday
When in Maine, right. It is the winter season, so let’s have an Ice Festival.
This Saturday it is Belfast’s turn. Billed as a safe and fun way to get out of the house this winter, it’s the Ice Festival. A first for Belfast this year.
Take a stroll through downtown Belfast this Saturday between Noon and 10 p.m. Visit all the ice sculptures that will be all over the downtown area. What’s an ice festival without an ice bar. Or two. Stop for a drink at one of the two ice bars.
There will also be many outdoor activities for you and the family to participate in this Saturday. Numerous ice carving demonstrations hourly at different locations. Noon at Post Office Square. One p.m. at Park on Main. Next at 2 p.m. Westside of the Footbridge. And between 3 and 4 p.m. on Main Street next to Rollie’s Ice Bar.
Community Ice Art Sculpture takes place at the corner of Main Street and Cross Street between Noon and 4 p.m. There are also other winter activities in Belfast for both adults and children. Ice skating at Waterfall Arts. The family can take a walk on the Harborwalk or cross country ski or snowshoe on the rail trail. There’s sledding at the Belfast Commons plus other activities and all are observing Covid 19 precautions.
When it’s winter in Maine, get outside and enjoy it and this Saturday it’s Our Town Belfast Ice Festival.
