It’s winter and the more outside fun and interesting events we can attend, the better.

Last year was Belfast’s first Ice Festival.  And it was a great winter event.

So, for 2022 Belfast presents the 2nd Belfast Ice Festival.

But wait there’s more fun for the whole family

Also to be held is the State of Maine Ice Carving Championship 2022. It's a first for Belfast, and for the state.

The event will be held in Downtown Belfast this weekend, beginning today and running through Sunday.

All events can be enjoyed while following Covid-19 guidelines.

The weekend begins Friday at noon with the display all over the downtown of the Ice Sculptures through Sunday.

Saturday morning at 10 AM, there is a live carving demonstration. And then the inaugural State of Maine Ice Carving Championship between 11 AM and 3 PM.

Other fun family events include horse and carriage rides on Saturday between Noon and 3 p.m.

A Magical Luminary Trail Saturday from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.

And all day Saturday as you walk and look at the ice sculptures you can stop and have a drink at one of the ice bars throughout downtown Belfast.

A first and a second in Belfast to send February out in all its glory. And a chance to get out of the house, beat cabin fever, and have some wintertime family fun.
