Memories of childhood.  My Mother would make baked beans most every Saturday.  I remember her soaking the beans overnight the night before, and then putting them into the bean pot and adding molasses and bacon, and who knows what else.  Then into the oven they went to bake, for hours and hours is my memory.  When they came out, into the oven went the bread. She made what we called Brown Bread too every Saturday.

The 71st Annual River Drivers' Supper was yesterday in Lincoln.  Cindy Campbell was there, and thanks to the lady who a few years ago we dubbed "The Bean Lady", and now I can't recall her name, for making sure she sent a quart back with Cindy so I too could partake.

Thanks! Band Practice is later this morning. Please do not come into my office today.
