Barking Dog Saves Lives Of Family In Burning Home

The occupants of a Naples mobile home were saved from a house fire by their dog, whose barking woke them from their sleep.

The dog and at least one other pet perished in the fire Monday morning, but not before he alerted three adults and one child of the fire that was consuming their home. WLBZ-TV reports that a 31-year-old man is being treated at Maine Medical Center for burns.

The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating to determine the cause of the fire that was reported just after 4:30 Monday morning on Pleasant View Road. The mobile home is a total loss.
