Bar Harbor Bank And Trust In China Robbed

The Bar Harbor Bank and Trust branch in China was robbed Thursday and police are looking for the suspect.
Department of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland says State Police responded to the report of a bank robbery at the bank on Route 3 at around 2:30 Thursday afternoon. Game Wardens and Forest Rangers also responded and helped with the investigation.
Witnesses say a white male, approximately 5'3" with a slim build robbed the bank before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of cash. No weapons were displayed and no one was hurt in the incident. Police believe it's likely the suspect fled in a nearby vehicle. There were no customers in the bank but there were employees present.
Troopers have several leads and are following up on them. Anyone who recognized the person involved or has information about the robbery is asked to call State Police in Augusta at (207) 624-7076.
